Welcome

Welcome back to the new school year. We look forward to seeing our returning students and welcome students that are new to St. Jude this year.  We will continue with NWEA, a research not-for profit organization that creates academic assessments in grades grades K-12 and Gradelink, a Student Information System (SIS)  that connects administrators, teachers, parents and students through grading attendance and administrative tasks. 

Our School Library is up and running and will be supervised by Miss Barbara.

Mission Statement

St. Jude Mission School provides  a quality education, in a loving and caring atmosphere, that will help students reach  their full potential; we envision this as including a strong general education with a true sense of God and an appreciation for their Native American heritage and culture.

Philosophy

  • St. Jude is an independent Catholic elementary school, located on the Soboba Indian Reservation. ​
  • Our school philosophy is founded on a common understanding of the primacy of God, Creator, and the value of the human person.  We believe that Native traditions and rituals, which share this understanding, are valid avenues for spiritual depth.
  • We believe that Catholic faith, as revealed in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and the tradition of the Church, can both support traditional Native values and customs as well as enrich the lives of the people with the message of Jesus.
  • We accept that Native traditions, with their innate spirituality, can enrich us in our Catholic faith.
  • We believe in the value of the family unit as the primary educational environment for our students, without ignoring the important contribution of the extended family and Tribe.
  • We hold that the work of education is to support the family by striving to empower each student to become knowledgeable, creative, ethical, while still maintaining Native culture and tradition.
  • We believe that a faith community which accepts Jesus Christ as the Way the Truth and the Life is prepared to respond to one’s neighbor in love, sharing that Truth and the life that comes from God.
